For over six decades, Madobi Iya Special Primary School, under Madobi Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) and Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has remained a symbol of academic excellence, discipline, and community service in Kano State.

Established in 1963 and located at Unguwar Iya, Madobi, the school derives its name from the community in which it is situated. Since its inception, it has played a vital role in providing quality basic education and nurturing responsible citizens who have made remarkable contributions to society.

Today, the school has a total enrolment of 1,249 pupils, comprising 652 boys and 589 girls, with learning taking place in 17 classrooms under the guidance of 18 teaching staff and supported by 2 non-teaching staff.

The school’s vision is to provide quality education through effective collaboration with the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC), Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Old Pupils Association (OPA), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and the Ministry of Education. Its mission is to nurture disciplined, productive, and patriotic citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to national development.

Although the school continues to record commendable academic achievements, it faces challenges such as inadequate teaching staff, insufficient teaching and learning materials, and the absence of a library, science laboratory, and ICT laboratory. Nevertheless, it continues to operate inclusive education programmes, safeguarding and child protection initiatives, clubs and societies, as well as sporting and cultural activities, with strong support from the host community.

Madobi Iya Special Primary School has also produced many distinguished personalities who continue to excel in different sectors of national life. Among its notable alumni are:
