The Government Girls Upper Basic Vocational School, Ja’en, organized an exhibition to showcase the various vocational skills learned by its students.
During the event, students displayed a wide range of products including sewing, knitting, room fresheners, incense, laundry soap, detergent, hair oil, bead making, cakes, popcorn, coconut flakes, milk candy, mopping freshener, Vaseline, hair cream, and different varieties of food.
In her remarks, the Principal, Hajiya Hadiza Bello Umar, explained that the aim of the event was to create awareness about the importance of vocational education, appreciate and motivate students’ efforts and talents, as well as to encourage creativity and self-reliance among young girls.

She further noted that such exhibitions help students build confidence, showcase their practical skills, promote innovation, and inspire other schools to embrace vocational training as a key component of education.
However, the Principal highlighted some challenges such as inadequate materials and equipment for practical work, and lack of proper space or workshop facilities, which the school hopes to address with the support of relevant authorities.
The event was well attended by parents, teachers, and members of the community, who expressed joy and appreciation for the school’s efforts in training their children to become skilled, creative, and self-reliant individuals.

Hajiya Hadiza Bello Umar commended both teachers and students for their dedication and commitment, assuring that the school will continue to strengthen its vocational programs for the benefit of all students.
