KNSG Attaches Priority to Teacher Training – SUBEB Chai

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Malam Yusuf Kabir, has stated that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusif is prioritizing teacher training to enhance their capacity.

Malam Yusuf made this statement while monitoring the Reading and Numeracy Activities (RANA) training at Jigirya Special Primary School in Nassarawa Local Government Education Authority.

“The RANA approach is a innovative method of teaching children reading, writing, and numeracy skills in Hausa Language, making teaching and learning more effective and efficient within a short period,” he explained.

The government has invested significantly in providing sufficient RANA textbooks for children and teachers in our schools, he added.

Malam Yusuf urged the participants to pay close attention to the facilitators and actively participate in the training to deliver effective lessons in their respective schools.

“As teachers, you are the torchbearers of educational standards and excellence within your schools. It is essential that you strive to meet the expectations in discharging your duties,” he emphasized.

He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for initiating policies and programs aimed at revitalizing and transforming the education sector at all levels in the state. These initiatives include constructing additional classrooms, renovating dilapidated ones, and sustaining teacher training and retraining to equip them with modern teaching methodologies.

Malam Yusuf congratulated the participants on having the opportunity to be part of the training and wished them a successful training experience.
