Kano State Emphasizes Staff Training to Boost Education Quality at SUBEB Workshop

The Special Adviser to the Kano State Governor on Education, Malam Tajudden Gambo, emphasized the importance of staff training in enhancing staff morale, productivity, and performance. He made this statement at the opening of a two-day capacity-building workshop for Directors of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Dutse, Jigawa State.
Malam Gambo stressed that the success of the current administration’s education policies and programs relies heavily on the diligence of the implementers. He urged participants to be attentive throughout the workshop to ensure effective comprehension and practical application of the knowledge gained.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Malam Bashir Baffa, commended the Board for organizing the workshop and encouraged participants to share their knowledge with subordinates.
Malam Yusif Kabir, Executive Chairman of the Board, explained that the workshop aimed to equip directors with new strategies to enhance productivity and improve basic education service delivery. He also noted that similar training had been conducted for Assistant and Deputy Directors.
Malam Yusif praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to improving the basic education sector, as evident in the 2025 budget allocation of 31% to education. The Governor’s efforts deserve recognition, he added.
The workshop highlighted the Kano State Government’s commitment to staff development and education sector reforms. The theme, “Transforming Basic Education through Effective Leadership and Management,” was developed in collaboration with Yusufah Consultancy.
This initiative aligns with the Kano State Government’s vision to provide high-quality and functional education for lifelong learning and self-reliance .
