Extracurricular activities boost pupils morale

As part of the activities to mark the end of third term, Gidan Makama Special Primary School in Municipal Local Government Education Authority has organized various competitions among pupils of the school, held at the school premises
Speaking on the development, the Head Teacher of the school, Hajiya Sadiya Tahir Yakasai said, the extracurricular activities were part of teaching and learning activities aimed at motivating and encouraging pupils on how to face challenges and encounter with their colleagues with vision and mission to succeed, n
Hajiya Sadiya noted that sport in the school curriculum helps to keep children physically fit.She further said, extracurricular activities also promote unity, good relationship, team spirit, honesty and transparency among pupils.
Tne chairman organizing committee, Mal. Ibrahim Harisu said, the school organized various activities mark the end of term each term, adding that all pupils in the school have equal opportunity to participate in any activity base on their interest and ability, emphasizing that sport helps schools to select best performance pupils who might represent the school in extracurricular activities within or outside.
He further said, the competitions witnessed by parent, pupils and invited guest includes football, debate, Quiz, filling in the bottle, skipping rope, sack running, spelling B and cultural performance among others
Mal. Ibrahim thanked the School Base Management Committee (SBMC), Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and Parents for the support and cooperation given to the schools in kind or in materials especially during the activities
