SUBEB Chair attends the commemoration of the World Teachers’ Day celebration.

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Malam Yusif Kabir, attended the commemoration of the World Teachers’ Day celebration.

The event, organized by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), State Chapter, was held at the union’s headquarters located at Gyadi-Gyadi in Tarauni Local Government Area.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman commended the union for its continued collaboration with the Board, especially in the area of teachers’ training and other education-related activities.

Malam Yusif Kabir noted that the State Government attaches great importance to teachers’ welfare, particularly in ensuring regular payment of salaries and the implementation of promotions.

He further stated that the government has constructed new classrooms, renovated several others, and provided necessary teaching and learning materials to enhance the quality of education.

In his speech, the State NUT Chairman, Comrade Baffa Ibrahim Garko, appreciated Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif for improving teachers’ welfare and working conditions.

He said, “We commend the Governor for recruiting new teachers, constructing additional classrooms, and organizing training programs to enhance teachers’ professional capacity.”

Comrade Baffa also appealed to the Governor to include a representative of NUT in the State Pension Committee as part of efforts to address the challenges teachers face during retirements
