UBEC/SUBEB ORGANIZES INTER LOCAL GOVERNMENT SPORT COMPETITION

Sport and competition help students to learn various skills, to develop leadership skill and stay healthy.

The Executive Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board, Malam Yusif Kabir stated this during the State final of Basic Education School sports held at Sani Abacha Stadium.

The Executive Chairman who was represented by the Ag Board Secretary, Hajiya Amina Umar said the inter Local Government Sport was organized by State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in collaboration with Universal Basic Education Commission Abuja (UBEC) Abuja

Malam Yusif maintained that sport are major component in teaching and learning process which encourage students to work in team and succeed together, adding that it promotes discipline and love among players.

He commended Eng. Governor Abba Kabir Yusif for his support to the competition and pointed that the event could not have been successful without state Government intervention.

“I want to assure you that Governor Abba Kabir Yusif is ready to support anything related to the development of education in the state” he reaffirmed

Our Correspondent, Usman Da’u Isah who was at the event reported that in Junior Secondary schools football competition, Kano Municipal Local Government took first position while Tarauni LGA came second position and the third position went to Wudil LGEA.

Municipal won first position in Table Tennis, Tarauni came second, then third position went to Nasarawa LGEA

Rimin Gado won first position in 100 meter Athletics followed by Gezawa second position while third position goes to Gabasawa LGEAIn the Junior secondary Schools 100 meter athletics category,

Tarauni won First position followed by Gezawa second position then third position went to Rimin Gado LGEA

In the 200 meter Junior Secondary Schools athletics category Rimin Gado won First position followed by Gwale second position and the third position went to Gezawa LGEA respectively.
