HIMMA RADIO ORGANIZES “BACK TO SCHOOL” CAMPAIGN IN MADOBI LGA

Himma Radio, based in Madobi Local Government Area, has organized a “Back to School” Campaign aimed at returning out-of-school children to classrooms. The event took place at the station’s office in Kafin Agur, Madobi LGA

The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Corporate Social Responsibility Dr. Sale Musa Wailare, commended the initiative by Himma Radio, describing it as being in line with the vision of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf to ensure that every child has access to quality education.

He said, “At present, there is no governor in the country who allocates a higher percentage of the state budget to education than Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.”

Dr. Wailare further called on wealthy individuals and corporate organizations to support education initiatives across the state. He hoped  that similar campaigns would be conducted across all 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State, with an assurance to present the report of event and request  of Himma Radio for patronage of media  to the Governor.

The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Alhaji Yusuf Kabir, represented by the Director of Social Mobilization, Malam Balarabe Danlami Jazuli, restated that Education for all is the responsibility of all. “Since the government is doing its best to improve education, therefore communities also need to contribute their quota.

He urged journalists and media organizations to publicize the government’s achievements in education, including the provision of teaching and learning materials and renovation of schools.

He also reminded participants that the recent recruitment of 4,315 teachers, whose salaries have already commenced, is clear evidence of the government’s commitment to improving education in the state.

Alhaji Yusuf Kabir commended the District Head of Madobi, Himma Radio, and other stakeholders for their contributions toward advancing education.

In his remarks, the station manager of Himma Radio,  Ismail Yusuf Makwarari, explained that the main objective of the campaign is to identify and return children who have dropped out of school, adding that the gesture is part the station Corparate Social Mobilization introduced by the media

He said, “We realized that the most valuable contribution we can make to our community is to ensure that our children return to school.”

Malam Makwarari stated that this was the first phase of the campaign, adding that it will continue  annually.

He also appealed to other corporate bodies and philanthropists to join in supporting education development.

The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Haruna Musa Danbatta, commended Himma Radio for the laudable initiative and pledged to fully support the next phase of the campaign in the coming year.

The Education Secretary of Madobi Local Government, Alhaji Lawan Sani Gora, also applauded the radio station for initiating the program, assuring continued collaboration with wealthy individuals and organizations to support education in the area.

In his address, the District Head of Madobi, Alhaji Sale Musa Sale (Majidadin Sarkin Kano), who officially flagged off the campaign, expressed his appreciation to all stakeholders and reaffirmed his total support for such noble initiatives.

At the end of the event, children who were returned to school received learning materials and writing tools as an encouragement to resume their education.
