Stanbic IBTC Renovates Classrooms in Kano, SUBEB Calls for More Corporate Support in Education

The Executive Chairman of the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Malam Yusuf Kabir, has emphasized the vital role of companies and organizations in supporting education development.
Malam Yusuf, represented by the Director of Kano Municipal Zone, Mahmud Sami Shehe, made the remarks at the commissioning of renovated classrooms undertaken by Stanbic IBTC Bank at Hausawa Model Primary School in Tarauni Local Government Area.
He noted that while the government has been working tirelessly to build and rehabilitate classrooms and provide furniture for both teachers and pupils, there is still a pressing need for banks and other business institutions to complement these efforts through corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The SUBEB Chairman commended Stanbic IBTC for its intervention and urged other corporate organizations to emulate the gesture.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Hon. Ahmad Muhammad Sekure, described the initiative as aligning with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s vision of encouraging individuals, organizations, and development partners to contribute toward improving access to quality education.
The Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Alhaji Muhammad Wudil, expressed appreciation to the bank for selecting Hausawa Model Primary School as a beneficiary of the project.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Mr. Wole Adeniyi, said the decision to support the education sector stems from the understanding that education is the bedrock of every society’s progress.
