SUBEB Chair – Commends Race Course Model Primary School Teachers.

The Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, Mallam Yusuf Kabir has expressed his satisfaction with teacher’s commitment and performance of Race Course Model Primary School in Nassarawa Local Government Education Authority.

Mallam Yusuf Kabir stated this when he paid unscheduled visit to the school.

When observing lessons in classes, the Chairman was highly impressed with performance of Jolly Phonics and Literacy teachers for using good teaching method to deliver lesson to pupils efficiently, he added that Board would reassess the teachers so that they would be commend based on their performance.

The chairman added that the collapse fence wall of the school would be rebuilt soon for school to have a maximum security and the ICT center wiring would be done for pupils to have good use of it as we are in digital era.

While in Hausawa Model Primary School, the Chairman charge the Head Teacher to work with School Based Management Committee (SBMC), Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and parents to put into action measures to tackle habitual lateness by the pupils of the school and then directed the Head Teacher to close the school gate by 8:00am every morning so that latecomers would think otherwise.

Mallam Yusuf further said the Board would support the school with construction of additional classes, furniture and reconnect the school with power for easy use of bore hole which is the source of water to the school.

In the school, the Chairman, found that the school has five (5) assistant while the school is in need of additional teachers, he therefore immediately directed the deployment of three (3) of them back to classroom to teach.

Similarly, the Executive Chairman, paid inspection to Yalwa Model Primary School in Dala Local Government area, where he appreciated the commitment and dedication of the teachers and Head teacher toward delivering their lesson and the way the school being managed.

Mallam Yusuf reemphasized that all Model School teachers would be reassess for competency to ensure that competent and qualified teachers were posted to such schools for effective service delivery.

During the visit, the Executive Chairman, was accompanied by SSA on Education to the Governor Hon. Mas’ud Toranke, Director Academic Service, Director Monitoring and Evaluation, Deputy Director Model School among others.
